Worst Mexican restaurant i have ever ate at! The salsa tasted like spaghetti sauce, and the chips were stale! Entree was flavorless. What a disappointing restaurant.

Very long wait for food but I assume it's due to limited staff and social distancing. Also I was with a larger group. The steak nachos were excellent.

Horrible. Just spent over $75 on slow service and what had to be the worst mexican food of our lives. Avoid this place like the plague.

Kind of a old rustic smell inside, but inside seems clean. A bit pricier than most Mexican restaurants I've been to, but the quality of the food makes up for it.

Amazing food!

Was very disappointed with the service. We sat there 20 + minutes before rest of our party got there. No drinks no chips. Everyone got there on my birthday lunch, finally got to order another 15 minutes. Got our food. Bob and I been going there 20 years! Others were 1st timers. Doubt they return. Had to ask for silverware and napkins after every one served. Had to take refills to ask for more, even the Cadillac's! Tickets messed up. It was a big disappointment. Thank goodness for good company. We probably won't go back either. Will miss Benny

This is a family managed restaurant, they take pride in serving guest wholesome quality Mexican food. Everyday the specials change with a great buffet served Sunday morning. If in the mood for great Mexican food look no farther quite quant atmosphere.

Service was absolutely terrible. Waitress disappeared over and over. She sent out other people with the food and drinks. I asked 4 times for blue cheese salad dressing and it took a half hour before I received any. Had to go to the kitchen to ask for more beverages and they weren't even busy. Plus restaurant must've flooded or something cause it had a very bad odor. Won't go back.They used to be a good place to go for dinner. What a shame.

Kinda lackluster. $10 margaritas that had virtually no tequila, fish tacos that tasted like they had been at the market too long and VERY slow service on a not-busy night. Very dissatisfied.

We have family dinners there several times a year. We enjoy the food and the atmosphere. Even with the large crowd the service in good My sister and I eat there once a month because we enjoy the taste and selection of the food.

We waited for about 15 minutes after we had all finished eating for the check. The salsa had a very funny after taste. Not sure if it was just my taste buds or what, but I didnt particularly care for it.

I've tasted better, too much lettuce on taco salad I might as well ordered just lettuce. Won't be back

Been coming to the original since I was a kid . Love the rice and beans . The little bit of ground beef on top is so flavorful and delicious

Really bad service, they were nice dont get me wrong,, but there was only one worker and they never checked up on us. The food wasn't good, at all, small portions and cheese was almost triple price from everywhere else, got an ice cold steak taco salad with salad dressing...who on earth does that? Neither of my kids ate ..their food was bad, bad meat I believe...we went to McDonald's afterward.

Amazing food. Best authentic dishes. Margaritas are good also.

I normally come here during the slower hours of business so I can't say much about service speed as the restaurant is typically empty when I'm there. However the servers are friendly and the food is good. I recommend getting the Strawberry Lemonade!

Elizabeth our waitress was super kind and knowledgeable about the menu! The atmosphere is amazingly authentic too.

Normally good for lunch or dinner but skip the Sunday brunch. They can not keep the buffet trays filled. Missing too many items at one time to make a good plate. Constantly out of plates, no condiments on table. Service was aweful. Waitress let empty plates stack up on our table and never asked if we needed refills on drinks. No tip left. Will not do buffet ever again.

Stopped by for an appetizer and a margarita. The Cadillac margarita is my favorite!

House salsa = ketchup with veggies. Chips are store bought. Ordered chicken enchiladas, beef taco and half order chicken nachos. (We have been to a lot of Mexican restaurants in other states and cruises). This is cheap quality and no love. The taco meat tasted OK, probably microwaved. Enchiladas were filled with white cheese and topped with two shreds of chicken. Only the sauce tasted OK. The rice on the entree tasted better than the side of rice, which was bland. They put some chunky meat on top of the rice too... odd... I thought it's a side of rice? The chicken nachos were a joke! The cheese sauce is plain. Just cream. No pepper flavor like you would expect. The chicken is definitely frozen and microwaved. No flavor, uniform cuts. Cheap. Sad. Disappointed. Don't assume my spouse speaks Spanish, he's from the Philippines. I speak Spanish.

Great food as always. Great service and authentic atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

I have always loved this place. Specially more now than they are non smoking. The food is great but the bartender could use some professionalism and not drink on the job. Both times recently she could barely do her job and was a mess. I hope that issue is rectified soon.

No flavor or seasoning on fajitas. Salsa looked and tasted like ketchup. Still it was edible. Decor was nice.

I got sick when I ate there which was the worst part but the inside is weird and depressing. Also the food is not good

We found this restaurant to be great. The service was good. The food was even better. We were quite pleased especially after reading all these negative reviews, some are clearly written by one guy who apparently had issues. Especially with his view of the salsa being ketchup! You can tell he wrote several reviews that were clearly all from him. Getting back to this review, the chips are homemade, the salsa was good, however the discussion with our server about even spicier salsa proved informative as they do have a hotter, green salsa. As a native of Arizona I am quite familiar with great Mexican food. Go, enjoy this restaurants great food, and margaritas! We will diffently make the 40 minute drive back again.

If you are looking for authentic Mexican food this restaurant delivers. They also have the best flan for dessert. I cant eat at other Mexican Restaurants as I am always disappointed.

Took a while to get seated & served. But once we were finally recognized the server was very nice. Chips & salsa were awful. Meal was nice.

I wish they would go back to the cooking style they had when they first opened..food was much better tasting...staff is great...food is hot but plain.

Service was a little slow, but friendly. Red salsa was a little bland. Tamales were good, as was all of the food.

Service was lousy. Took almost an hour to get a cup of coffee & ketchup for the fries. Was told they have to take care of people inside before the outside.but they took care of their people like they were inside

The service was not good. The salsa wasn't good either... It had too much of a sweet taste. The grilled chicken tacos i got were actually street taco size... And they were $12...I just wasn't pleased at all.

Really enjoyed our meal. We visit this restaurant because of the great food and friendly staff. Today was no exception, everything was great but one item. The server was very busy and our drinks were empty once or twice. She got them refilled but we had to wait a few minutes. Will be back.

We were seated by the hostess and despite not being busy at all, it was 13 min until our server took our drink order. She was on point and nice after that. The chips were not good, the salsa taste like ketchup. The food was really really good! Good portion, good price. I will go back for more. Hopefully the 13 min wait and the ketchup salsa will won't be the same next time.

The service was great but our food was meh.We did enjoy the margaritas and salsa.

Food was okay service not so much. After paying with card and checking my account the next day there was 10.00 more added after we left. Not recommended by me but try it and see what you think.

I’ve eaten here more times than I can count. The food is delicious and the service is usually excellent. On your birthday they bring you fried ice cream on a sopapia and it is AMAZING, you can also wear their Bday sombrero if you’re into that. Most Mexican food gives me an upset stomach, but Ruiz has never bothered my stomach.

Not anything that great to say. They had rubbery cheese. Really poor service. The salsa is very disappointing. Smells of smoke.
